This is an exquisite hand-carved wooden Buddha seated inside a coconut husk. This sculpture depicts a meditating Buddha, with both hands in an open palm formation resting comfortably on his lap. This masterpiece is carved entirely from a single block of highly prized crocodile wood to maintain the sculpture's integrity and quality. Crocodile wood is naturally white and dense.
This magnificent Buddha sculpture was first carved, fine and smooth polished to its natural white wood appearance. The grains are visible and extremely attractive which adds depth to this masterpiece. At the same time, the coconut husk are tied to a block of wood with coconut fibers to secure a place where the Buddha sculpture will rest. A clear yellow acrylic paint and clear lacquer were applied to the coconut husk also. Finally, the Buddha sculpture is securely attached to the wood/coconut husk.
Buddha's facial expression says it all - calmingly gentle, peaceful and tranquil. It's believed that by placing a Buddha artifact will bring you luck and peace to your space and life.
This sculpture looks great on a shelf, desk, dresser, or coffee table.
