Q: How are my items packaged for shipments?
A: All items are properly wrapped and packaged to ensure best protection. Items are wrapped with bubble wraps, required padding, box filler and high quality boxes.
Q: I am sending this item as a gift. Can I have it gift wrapped?
A: Absolutely yes. Rachana World Collections will take the greatest care in gift wrapping your items with gift wrapping materials that will fit your occasions (ie House Warming, Birthday, Christmas, New Year, Retirement, Graduation, etc). We will also include a hand written note of your personal message with your gift.
Q: When will my orders ship?
A: Your orders are shipped on the same day or the next business day.
Q: Can I make my purchases without a credit card?
A: Yes. You can make purchases using PayPal, money order and personal checks through Mail Order. Please email sales@rachanaworld.com with the merchandise part number, quantity and preferred shipping method. We will promptly reply with a quote and ordering procedures.
Q: What is the sales tax for my purchase?
A: There are no sale taxes incurred for all shipments to outside of the state of Texas. Within Texas, an 8.25% sales tax applies.
Q: How long will Mail Order take?
A: Your Mail Order will be shipped out typically within 2-3 days from the day we receive your payment. We will notify you via email when we receive your payment, when your order is placed and when your order is shipped (with tracking number).
Q: Can I exchange or return merchandise?
A: Yes. Merchandise can be exchanged or returned within 15 days from date you received the merchandise. We stand by the quality of our products and your total satisfaction. You will be responsible for all shipping and handling expenses incurred. For exchange, merchandise can be substituted with others of equal or lower in value. No credits are awarded. For returned merchandise, a small re-stocking fee ($10) will be assessed and your payments will be refunded.
Q: Who do I contact for return or exchange?
A: Please email sales@rachanaworld.com of your intent to exchange or return in the subject. We will require the following information to issue an RMA # (Return Merchandise Authorization) to process your request:
- Your name, address, original receipt
- Returning merchandise P/N
- Replacement merchandise P/N
- Original packaging
Q: Can I place a custom design wood carvings or art pieces order? I am looking for a specific wood carving or design but unable to locate one anywhere.
A: Yes. You can order custom design wood and stone carvings. We have highly skilled artists that can create your custom art pieces such as wall panels, story boards, wood frames, bookends, vases, masks, center pieces, etc. Depending on the size and the complexity of design, custom design order may take up to 2 to 3 months to make. As such, all custom design pieces must be pre-paid (50% down and 50% due upon shipping). Please contact sales@rachanaworld.com for more information.
Q: What kind of woods are used for the wood carvings/items?
A: Only the highest quality woods are used to produce these exceptionally high quality products. For example, most wood crafts are made from crocodile woods, suar woods, hibiscus, teak woods and many more. Please check out the type of woods and their properties here. In support of conservation efforts, only legally harvested woods are used.
Q: The item I received does not look like the picture of the item I ordered. Why is that?
A: Rachana World Collections carries only the highest quality wood carvings and other handmade handicrafts. Because each items are carved and handmade by different artists, the resulting work of art may vary slightly from one piece to another. Each item is therefore a unique one of a kind creation however, the basic underlying patterns and outlines are based on the same designs. Furthermore, the size, quality and color of the wood used may add further variations and uniqueness to each handicraft.
Q: I noticed some minor lines and cracks on the wood carvings. Does that mean it's damaged?
A: The woods used for our wood carvings are screened to ascertain that they are of high quality and suitable for the intended design. They are also pre-treated with appropriate chemicals and a drying period will follow over the next few weeks. Each successive chemicals and drying treatments will transform the woods into a more durable state. However, these steps may not guarantee that all moisture could be driven out. Trace moisture trapped within the woods may continue to evaporate which could leave the carved items under tremendous stress. As a result, most wood carvings will crack under this stress to either reveal fine hair lines that are invisible to the naked eye, or larger cracks along stress lines. These fine and small cracks are unavoidable and generally are not treated as damages. In addition, wood carvings could crack if exposed to uncontrolled climate or environment - ie wild temperature and humidity swings. This could lead to severe cracking that would ultimately lead to decay. Some suggestions to care for woods are illustrated below.
Q: How do I care for the wood carvings?
A: Please use sound judgment with the wood carvings. They are for decorative use and when used appropriately, you should derive satisfaction and enjoyment as they light up your living space or its surroundings.
DO:
- Keep wood carvings under controlled environment - ie inside the house away from rain, excessive moisture, direct sunlight.
- Clean periodically to remove dust and grease built up. Use dry to lightly damp cloth to gently wipe surface and immediately wipe off any excess moisture. Other approved wood cleaners (oil based) can also be used however, proceed cautiously. It's recommended that you clean only a small section of the wood carvings and let rest to detect any potential discoloration or degradation cause by the cleaners. Only if you are certain that the cleaners do not harm the wood that you should apply to all surface.
- Inspect periodically for wood dusts around the wood carvings. If wood dust started to appear, inspect thoroughly to find causes - ie. termites or other bugs infestations. Immediately treat wood with approved chemicals that do not harm the wood.
- Position the wood carvings in a low traffic area of your house. This is because, most wood designs are very delicate and could break easily. Use good judgment when placing or positioning these exquisite wood crafts to fit your exotic decoration needs.
DON'T:
- Clean with unapproved wood polish, wax or excessive moisture.
- Carve or cut into wood for any reasons.
- Leave it out to uncontrolled environment - ie too cold or too hot or worse, sharply contrasting temperature and humidity swings.
- Apply stickers on wood surface.
- Leave unattended near fire or heat source.
- Lift wood carvings by holding on small handles or delicate carvings - narrow hand or floral sections of the wood carvings. They could potentially break off.
